This interactive workshop will provide you with ways to understand and manage stress and anxiety. This will give you relaxation on the day but also strategies to enhance your wellbeing and productivity in the what’s it all about?

We all know the benefits of exercise on the body. But did you know mindful movement changes and even improves brain function? Join me, Dr Janine Cooper, psychology lecturer, neuroscientist, pilates & yoga enthusiast and the host of the Everyday Neuro podcast series, to explore and understand the exciting evidence that shows mindful movement has the potential to enhance attention, self-awareness and stress regulation. Expect to learn, be inspired and even practice some yoga with us.

During this interactive workshop, we will identify key brain regions and their associated functions and how yoga can help protect and enhance such abilities. You will learn strategies and about how health factors and taking part in physical activity can be hugely beneficial to cognitive performance (e.g. memory, thinking and attention) and wellbeing (e.g. stress and anxiety).

There will be a short break with a delicious light afternoon tea to allow questions and preparation for the physical practice and information session that follows. Together, with a fabulous yoga teacher, Ariane, we will work through breath, postures and meditation techniques to discuss the benefits each has on brain functioning, thinking and wellbeing. This information when combined with the active practice will provide an opportunity for enhanced learning to take place, whilst leaving you feeling relaxed and mindful.

This workshop is ideal for anyone with an interest in the topic. The workshop has the potential to enhance your own personal practice or your teaching.
