Time to Save Food – Special Community Event

Sun 4 Nov 2018, 9:30am–11:30am

Where: Food Faith Community Garden, Hughes Park, Waterview Drive, Lane Cove, New South Wales

Restrictions: All Ages

Listed by: Eat the Globe

Love food, the great outdoors & making a difference?

Come along to this special event to:
- Make a difference: Want to help save food/reduce food waste? Come listen to Dinh Tran, the founder of the Save Food Movement, who will share her top tips on reducing food waste in your kitchen.

- Enjoy nature: learn about the beautiful plants in the FoodFaith community garden and do a bit of volunteer gardening to help these plants flourish! (open to all levels of experience, you don't need to be an experienced gardener).

- Satisfy your stomach: As a practical step towards reducing food waste, we are encouraging participants to bring any salad ingredients + bread that you have in your fridge. We will also be harvesting produce from the community garden, and we'll combine all the ingredients gathered from everyone into a tasty salad, so participants can enjoy a salad sandwich for brunch...healthy, tasty and satisfying!

We are giving away goodie bags to participants to help people to reduce food waste in their everyday lives (ie. fabric shopping bag + tea towel + bag clips/food storage clips, etc). Stocks are limited, register for the event so we can reserve a bag for you.

Hope to see you there!
