Tony J. King

Tony J King’s signature sound is hard to pin down. Cycling between the contemporary alt-roots sound, to the jiving, dirty tunes of the 40’s and 50’s, King oscillates between worlds, sounds and moods taking influences from the likes of Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan, Howling Wolf, Leadbelly and Robert Johnson.

With a few stories, guitar and half a drum kit, Tony J King creates a ramshackle music that has its roots in the street-corner blues and folk of the forties. Drawing on his experiences growing up in the 'Northern Badlands' of SA and the interesting and unique jobs he's had since Tony J King weaves tales from his fascination with the unusual, the exotic and the downright bizarre delving into the darker and mysterious side of the flawed and the famous, the wild and the wicked.

Late Night 9pm.

The Slipdixies

The Slipdixies are a band of unique musicians inspired by early jazz and blues music of the twenties and thirties. Their repertoire ranges from hot driving rhythms to laid back blues, playing old favourites as well as lesser known forgotten treasures of a bygone era. The Slipdixies create the sounds of early New Orleans music with a mild modern twist so you better get ready for toe tapping, whiskey swigging good ol' nawlins vintage Jazz & Blues!

The Moldy Fig is a New Orleans restaurant bar in the heart of the Brunswick East dining district. Enjoy home cooked Southern American food all night as the kitchen stays open till 11pm. Come down early for Happy Hour between 5-7pm and stick around for our late night specials from 9pm.
