This project aims to collect cane toads in local areas of Darwin. These will be turned into "toad sausages" to teach quolls to avoid cane toads in the wild. Since being introduced to QLD in 1935, they have rapidly spread to the NT leading to devastating effects on our native wildlife. After an informative identification session we will head out to targeted breeding sites including Lee Point, East Point, Botanical Gardens and Golflinks to collect Cane Toads.

We meet at the Conservation Volunteers Australia Darwin office and drive you out to the site (alternatively, you can arrange to meet us onsite at 6:30pm). Online bookings are essential (see link above). Please email darwin@cva.org.au or call the office (08) 8981 3206 for further information.

Important: Please wear long sleeved shirt, long pants, enclosed shoes and bring a water bottle, plus a head torch or hand-held torch if you have one.
