Essendon Choral Society celebrates its 40th Birthday this year, and it is with great pleasure that we wish to invite you to our forthcoming Anniversary Celebration Concert: "40 Years of Glorious Singing."

Take a melodious trip down memory lane with us to enjoy an afternoon of favourite choral classics from across the centuries—including works by Verdi, Vivaldi, Handel, Mendelssohn through to more recent composers such as Samuel Barber and Eric Bogle. Greg Hocking AM will conduct this concert which also features Graeme Burnham at the organ, as well as distinguished Soloists and instrumentalists from The Melbourne Opera Company.

In acknowledgement of members who originally initiated the Choir in 1979, and all those who have since participated in its ongoing life, our programme will include many favourite choral classics enjoyed by members across the years. Further to that, following the performance, the celebration will continue with a Birthday Afternoon Tea, to be held in the Church Hall. where members of the audience may meet and celebrate with Choristers, Instrumentalists and all friends of Essendon Choral Society.

We hope that many of our past members will be able to attend so that we can acknowledge their legacy. Our Society also wishes to acknowledge Moonee Valley City Council for its endorsement throughout our 40 years of singing, and also for its financial support of this special anniversary concert, through its biannual grants program. We hope you will be able to share this celebration with us.
