A.D.K.O.B. is a Sydney-based musical project by multi-instrumentalist & producer Mark Piccles. Reaching deep into his personal life, Piccles shares eternal stories from a fresh perspective, all while retaining the very special A.D.K.O.B. groove.

Join A.D.K.O.B. this Oct/Nov on tour playing their new EP "Nothing is a Waste of Time" live for the first time.

There’s a lot of meaning behind this EP for Piccles, ""Nothing is a Waste of Time" is about burning yourself down and building yourself back up again. The slow, painful realization and acceptance of the fact that nothing you do is time wasted; that everything you do and don’t do makes up who you are." - Mark Piccles.

Current single "Shatter" is Piccles' most confessional work yet & the focus track from their new EP "Nothing Is a Waste of Time" which is to be released Sept 13. "There is no way around the pain and hopelessness of being heartbroken. Feeling completely shattered & falling apart. But there's a certain catharsis in shouting that from the roof-tops even though I’m not usually so direct with this stuff." - Mark Piccles

Difficult to define in genre, A.D.K.O.B. has always spanned several boundaries. There's guitars sure, and live they 'look like' an "indie-rock" band but there's so much more going on. "I still don't really know what style or genre we are, it's not for me to decide. I find myself focusing on things like building on the lyrics, stronger arrangements, different instrumentation... I just look for sounds that give me tingles," Piccles confesses.

Support from Offshore Projects and Bonniesongs.

Offshore Projects
Offshore Projects is the musical project for Jonas Nicholls, the former singer & songwriter for much-loved Sydney band from Sures. In Offshore Projects Nicholls sings tales of moving out of home at the tender age of "way too old". It’s an anthology of his everyday failures and anxieties coated in a tongue-in-cheek charm. Lead single ‘Sham’ chronicles a delayed coming-of-age while navigating through a modern a world of half-truths.

Before Offshore Projects took hold, Nicholls put his energy into his former band Sures. They toured Australia for years supporting a bunch of great artists (Best Coast, Real Estate, Wavves, Vampire Weekend, The Rubens, Rufus Du Sol, Dune Rats, Alpine, Matt Corby) as well as playing Laneway Festival in 2012 and Secret Garden Festival in 2013.

Bonnisongs
For a peck of audiences in Australia over the past couple of years, Bonnie Stewart (Ireland) has been one of those subtly transcendent artists. Her lilting vocals float over gentle peaks of acoustic and electronic instruments, layered ethereally into what may be a moderately enchanted loop pedal. Under the spell of thrumming guitar, Stewart renders her arrangements with a fidelity of performance that seems to amplify an almost spectral presence. This is Bonniesongs. She’ll play loudly whilst making you ridiculously aware of silence and then go some way to reminding you how music is at its most basic, mere vibration moving through air, occupying the same molecular space as the incorporeal.

"Spartan dream-folk drifts into unexplored areas, borrowing from jazz improvisation while delving into the sub-conscious." - Clash Music

"An immersive slice of indie-pop." - The Line of Best Fit The Line of Best Fit

"Some wonderful, magical arrangement in here. it’s a quirky one that shimmers with beauty." - Declan Byrne Triple J Unearthed
