A Novocastrian Rhapsody, Brendan Collin’s Australian Premiere commission will be presented by the Newcastle Wind Orchestra. Brendan has channelled the music of his childhood and explored the expressive and virtuosic qualities of the music of Monti, Weiniawski and Sarasate. The rich and vibrant music of these masters enabled him to produce the Gypsy-like themes, harmonies and structures that became the basis of the new work, A Novocastrian Rhapsody.
