ade ishs Trio

The ade ishs Trio returns to Paris Cat for an intimate show of heartwarming and soulful jazz drawing influences from pop and folk music as well as contemporary jazz in the 1990s with an emphasis on catchy melodies inspired by real-life stories. The music contains lush orchestration typically played bigger size ensembles as well as traditional ethnic sounds.

With eight albums under his name, Indonesia-born ade celebrates stylistic diversity as reflected in his eclectic repertoire. His debut trio album was picked by ABC Jazz’s Ivan Lloyd as one of his 2013 favourites. In addition to styles, ade also embraces cultural diversity. He has performed with Dung Nguyen (Australia), Geoff Kluke (Australia), Daigo Nakai (Germany), Benny Likumahuwa (Indonesia), Candra Malik (Indonesia), Reyharp (Britain), Zamil Idris (Malaysia), and many other musicians in Australia and Indonesia of various genres.

His trio with highly accomplished Melbourne musicians Alex Roper and Rory Brown performed at the internationally acclaimed Ubud Village Jazz Festival in Bali. The Jazzuality magazine wrote about the show, “Simply lovely feel-good show from ade ishs Trio, we hope to see him here again some other times.” The success of their appearance has stimulated them to make a new album they are currently working on.

In addition to performing around Melbourne, ade has also played at prestigious jazz festivals with world-wide recognition including Melbourne International, Wangaratta, and Eltham.
