Have you got a problem with a financial product or service? Are you unsure if and how to pursue your complaint? Are you of the one in two Australians who have a concern with a financial firm but don’t actually lodge a complaint? Rest assured, help is on its way.
The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) has hit the road and is set to arrive in Hobart on Tuesday 24th September to offer free Financial Fairness Checks and introduce Australians to its free, fair and independent financial dispute resolution services.
AFCA is the one-stop-shop for consumers and small businesses with complaints about financial firms, including banks, credit and insurance organisations, investments, financial advice and superannuation.
Offering face-to-face financial complaint guidance for the first time since its November 2018 launch, AFCA will help to demystify financial complaint illegibility and the lodgement process, with financial complaints experts on hand to work through a financial complaint checklist with locals and learn more about the financial issues they face.
In its first 10 months of operation, AFCA has received more than 741 financial complaints from Tasmanians and awarded more than $2.3 million in compensation. AFCA’s Financial Fairness Roadshow is designed to ensure all Australians feel confident in bringing their financial complaints forward.
