Taverners are passionate about enabling the disadvantaged beyond financial, physical, intellectual or geographic restrictions to achieve their life’s sporting dreams. Join us on Friday 27th, as excitement builds for the AFL Grand Final as we celebrate the power and purpose of inclusive sport, while raising funds for our inspiring Sporting Chance Awards recipients.

Enjoy a 3-course luncheon, with table beverages, bar and dance the afternoon away to the sounds of Just One Night. Take advantage of our early bird tickets ($135) and book your place or your table now!

It’s Hobart’s biggest AFL pre-Grand Final day event. So play your part amongst a passionate and inclusive sports-loving crowd – alert your networks and secure your seats now!

MC Lucy Breaden will host many special guests on the day, including Australian Paralympian Melissa “set no limits” Carlton. Born in South Africa and educated in Tasmania, Melissa is passionate about the importance of setting goals and chasing your dreams, no matter what barriers exist – physical, emotional, financial or geographical.

Community sports champion, Paul Kennedy (Glenorchy FC Coach) will share his passion for inclusive and grass-roots sport as an enabler of confidence, fitness and social connection. Those who have heard Paul speak, know he’ll both educate and challenge any norm or attitude that excludes participation for any individual to develop and thrive through sport.

Also, inclusive, disability sport administrator Belinda Kitto, CEO of New Horizons Tasmania, will share insight to the program and partnership that led to the development of the state’s Intellectually Disabled Team that represents us at the National Cricket Inclusion Championships in Geelong each year. Belinda has also been a leader in the Tasmanian AFL Inclusion space, working with AFL Tas since 2014 to co-ordinate and manage a representative team, and last year as one of a committee who pitched for, and then hosted the National AFL Inclusion Carnival in Launceston.

Belinda currently oversees 22 inclusive sport and recreation programs a week across Tasmania, and she is a passionate advocate for ensuring that all people with disability have the opportunity to optimise their health and wellbeing through sport and recreation.
