Anna Quayle & the Great American Songbook with PlanB Jazz

Come and enjoy an afternoon with vocalist Anna Quayle singing songs from the Great American Songbook, accompanied by Plan B Modern Jazz Quartet! Anna has swapped her dancing shoes for a vocal vocation, but it doesn’t depart from her extraordinary talent. We call her the “little woman with the big voice”!

Anna, principal of Coast Academy of Song and Dance established it in 2014 on returning to the Sunshine Coast after 9 years of performing professionally in Musical Theatre and Cabaret overseas. Anna worked as a Singer/Dancer and Lead Singer on Cruise Ships, performed in Musicals, Pantomimes, and Touring Cabaret shows in England and Ireland. She also appeared in international TV commercials, and most recently played the lead in two musical theatre productions in Tokyo Disneyland.

Anna studied ‘Music and Theatre’ in the University of Wollongong specialising in classical singing, before moving to London to fulfill her dream of becoming a professional performer. In between performance contracts Anna worked as a freelance Ballet and Musical Theatre teacher, and whilst in London gained her Ballet Teaching Diploma from the ‘British Ballet Organisation’ where she also taught.

She’ll be singing songs such as "Cry me a River", "Autumn Leaves", "I get a kick out of you", etc. Local band Plan B Jazz has been providing musical entertainment to the Noosa shire for over 6 years. Brian Ford on piano, Dave Merry tenor/soprano sax and flute, Ken Gibson bass and Noel Bowen drums collectively bring you the sound of eternal jazz classics.
