DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne has partnered with Hearth Galleries of Healesville to present a vibrant and insightful exhibition of large-scale paintings, featuring artists from the Central Australian Aboriginal communities of Yuendumu and Nyirripi.

Through colourful unrestricted palettes, ancient iconography and the sharing of their Jukurrpas (Dreaming stories), the artists of Yuendumu and Nyirripi give a powerful insight into the integration of a loving knowledge of country that is at once spiritual, sustainable, ecological, regenerative and creative.

These paintings are a powerful tool of contemporary artistic expression, demonstrating diverse and collaborative methodology, and the artists’ ability to capture the vitality of Jukurrpa and its essential and vital integration with country.

This exhibition includes exciting work from both beginning and established artists. The artists hail from the Warlukurlangu Artists stable, a highly prolific and successful Aboriginal-owned art centre in Central Australia, which has work in collections and renown galleries across Australia and around the world. The principal aim of the art centre is to share Warlpiri culture and to increase awareness about Aboriginal culture in general.

Opening night will be on Thursday 17 January, 6pm. The artworks will be presented by Christine Joy of Hearth Galleries. Drinks & snacks provided. All welcome!

Hearth Galleries Healesville specialises in beautiful Aboriginal art from the Central Desert Region and Victoria. We work with not-for-profit Aboriginal-owned and governed art-centres, that support their artists and develop well-being projects that support their communities.
