Established in 2015, the Bayside Acquisitive Art Prize is a celebration of contemporary Australian painting. The finalist exhibition brings together a broad range of artists, both established and lesser known, whose varied approaches to the painted medium conveys the breadth and diversity of painting in Australia today.

Congratulations to Dani McKenzie on being awarded the 2019 Bayside Acquisitive Art Prize for her painting 'Camp'. The winner of the Local Art Prize is Fiona McMonagle for her work 'Toast with jam'. This year we welcomed Jane Devery, Curator, Contemporary Art, National Gallery of Victoria, and Anthony Fitzpatrick, Curator, TarraWarra Museum of Art, who joined Joanna Bosse, Curator, Bayside Gallery on the 2019 judging panel.
