For teenage girls aged 13–17. Small groups of 12 participants ensures personalised attention.

This workshop will assist attendees in understanding how they create meaning in their life, the changes their brains go through in adolescence, how to silence the inner voice and, how they can feel happier and more confident in who they are now and who they are growing into. This is the workshop mums wish they had the opportunity to attend as a teenager.

Adolescents are facing a different world to that which their parents grew up in. The constant stream of information and comparison to others has created a need for more resilience and positive mental health strategies to help develop a satisfying sense of self. This workshop is highly interactive, includes a workbook and will teach participants several techniques and when to use them.

Sessions in this full day course include:

- The meaning of…everything: this session will focus upon how meaning is created using the communication model, and give practical tools to help participants view situations in a different way.

- Happiness is an inside job: using some of the latest positive psychology interventions, participants will learn how to better manage their emotions and how to prime their brains for a positive self image.

- When the going gets tough: based on Daniel Siegel’s (Clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine and Executive Director of the Mindsight Institute) research findings about the adolescent brain changes, this session will give teenagers specific skills they can use to thrive during these changes and to wire their brains for success.

- Creating a positive ID (Inner Dialogue): we focus on specific challenges teenage girls face and how they can create a supportive, loving inner voice that will serve them through adolescence and into adulthood.
