South of the City is taking over The Espy Basement featuring some of the hottest acts right now!

Melbourne indie rockers Big League have steadily grown their reputation with a prolific number of releases and head turning live shows over the last two years. The band supported the release of the debut album “I Thought Thunderbolt" with a string of well-received film clips and a national tour. Since the launch, Big League, led by husband and wife duo Travis & Marie, were chosen to showcase at SXSW in Austin Texas, and turned the trip into a 10 date US tour.

The band won over American audiences with their performances at official Sounds Australia & SXSW showcases, followed by a string of west coast dates stretching from Seattle to LA, with radio appearances and live recording sessions along the way.

Following the success of the album, Off The Hip Records issued “I Thought Thunderbolt” onlimited edition orange vinyl for Record Store Day 2018. After taking some time mid year to write & record, they now offer a brand new taste of the forthcoming album with lead single ‘Olympic Mystery’ and a string of shows to follow!

"With their layers of jangly, fuzzed out guitar and blissful summertime vocals, Big League feel like '90s grunge on muscle relaxants." - Happy Mag

Paul and Jess are the two halves that make up The Belafontes. They are a married couple and they make lo fi fuzzy pop in their living room. January 2019 marks the release of their very first EP. It includes 3 singles released in 2018 and their brand new track Roll On. Roll On means different things to Paul and Jess but it’s something in the vicinity of never giving up on your youthful pursuits and wanting to quit your job and live in a tour van. The couple feel really lucky to be a part of a music community in Melbourne and have gained pockets of fans worldwide thanks to the magic of community radio, college radio and the internet.
