Bigger Than Jesus + Envy Marshall + The Blacktides : 29 NOV

Melbourne heavy hard rockers Bigger Than Jesus are returning to an old home being legendary Outlaw Hard’n’Fast at the iconic venue Chasers.

Back in the 90s, Bigger Than Jesus’ gigs were a sight to behold. A band that knew how to do rock so hard and in your face and put on a show, wooden crosses burned on stage and ceilings were sometimes destroyed.

While that’s less likely to happen in this day and age, the counter-culture attitude behind the act remains strong. They still know how to do it BIG. This is the last gig for this year and Brett Kingmans’ last gig with the band. Their musicianship is a highlight and ranges from true grit to warm fluidity. The guitar work deserves a particular mention where one word comes to mind: blissful. The vocals are diverse as well, but it only proves Steve Lucas’ (frontman of legendary punk band X) willingness to push boundaries.

Envy Marshall Aussie Rock Singer whom strutting into town with a guitar on her back and a million stories to tell, Envy Marshall is a powerhouse of pure energy and will launch her music video: DROWN at the BTJ gig.

Envy quit the sport of wresting (due to risk of permanent injury), bought a guitar and threw everything she had into rock n roll. Teaching herself how to play, Envy put her life story into songs, moved to Melbourne, found her kindred souls.

Passion, confidence and sexuality come together in her lyrics that strike at the very core of human emotion and they’re backed by some of the most driving rock riffs you’ve heard in years. Envy is primed and ready to rock you ahead of Bigger Than Jesus at Chasers on November 29. She is the real deal, her songs scream honesty because they are her truth. Rock & Roll Babies!

The Blacktides with Red - Guitar + Vox, Netty - Drums + Vox

Melbourne based heavy rock 2 piece inspired by Royal Blood, have been going hard for a couple of years together now. Biggest difference between us and Royal Blood is that we are heavier and swear like bloody sailors as we grew up in the country. Opened for Michale Graves (Misfits) at Cherry Bar, the main support act for Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) at The Croxton Bandroom. They are rough as guts, love partying and entertaining a crowd and we LOVE making music that gets you headbanging and drunken dad dancing.
