Blackwell Funerals Official Opening with Mayor Anne Monceaux

One of Adelaide’s largest funeral directors, Blackwell Funerals is set to relaunch its 290 Greenhill Rd. Glenside location with a bright and beautiful look inspired by a changing view of what a funeral should be, following an extensive renovation. Locals are invited to the re-opening, which will be hosted by Burnside Mayor Anne Monceaux on the 24th of September with cocktails, canapés and music.

Established in 1940, the original funeral home was a natural progression from the Blackwell Family’s coffin manufacturing business. To this day, it maintains the original ethos and beliefs of founder, Mr Daryl Blackwell, with a dedication to compassion, respect and service.

The new look location has been sensitively renovated in partnership with White Lady Funerals to maintain the building’s rich heritage, while bringing it up to date with contemporary views that funerals should celebrate life and provide a connection to those being farewelled.

The location now offers a range of facilities to help attendees to connect, including a reflection lounge and catering kitchens for wakes. The improved funeral home also features state of the art facilities, such as audio-visual (AV) technology that can live-stream funerals online to well wishers from around the world.
