Will you sink or will you float?
Wildlings Forest School welcomes you to come and build your own life-sized raft to float down the idyllic Petrie Creek with your dad, grandad or loved one, followed by a family Father’s Day picnic down at our beautiful forest space.

Children will have full (supervised) use of our hand tools (including hand saws, hammers, hand drills etc.), a myriad of natural resources, pallets, building and craft materials to build their very own miniature or life-sized raft to float down Petrie Creek. This is a wet activity where half the fun is failing!

What to bring
● Snacks
● Water bottle
● Closed-in shoes
● Long pants
● Togs & Towel
● Spare change of clothes (inc. shoes)
● Hat & sunscreen
● Bug repellent
● Something to sit on (we bring big rugs but you might want your own)
● Rain gear (we are an all-weather group)

Please note ticket price is for one child, parents attend free of charge.

Where to Meet
Head to Youth Avenue in Burnside where you can park in front of the Sunshine Coast PCYC. Walk around the PCYC, along the oval side until you see the green Little Athletics shed where we will be meeting.
Please note that there are no toilets or drinking taps at the Forest School site. We have a ‘wee tree’ however if you need a proper toilet facility or need to refill water bottles, you will need to walk back to the PCYC. Before we head to the creek please make sure your family has had some time to use the toilets there.
Once we are ready we will lead the group down the path along the creek until we get to base camp. From here we will always go over our safety briefing.

For more information, please see our Into the Wild FAQs.
