Australia’s singing cook, Michelle Pearson, presents her musical dining experience, Comfort Food Cabaret in its Brisbane debut and is raising funds for children’s charity, Little Lives.

In its third year, the award-winning musical food sensation will be performing at Jo Jo’s Restaurant and Bar in South Brisbane on Thursday 9 May. Pearson’s unique musical-foodie experience merges home style dining with traditional musical cabaret and has received widespread acclaim in Australia and overseas from both critics and audiences after sell-out seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe, Adelaide and Melbourne Fringe Festivals and Tasting Australia.

Brisbane guests will be treated to a three-course comfort food inspired menu with recipes from Michelle’s recently released ‘Comfort Food Cabaret’ cookbook. All profits from the special musical food event will go to Australian children’s charity, Little Lives that fundraise for children’s health locally and abroad, providing health equipment and vital services for children with medical needs.

Comfort Food Cabaret took out South Australia’s highest accolade for cabaret at the Adelaide Theatre Guide Awards in 2017, won Best Cabaret at this year’s Adelaide Fringe and Michelle Pearson was recently named as the 2019 Made in Adelaide ambassador which will see her tour her work to Edinburgh in August 2019.

In August 2018, Michelle was invited to perform her cooking cabaret at Copenhagen’s three Michelin star restaurant Geranium after a chance meeting at the Adelaide Fringe in 2017 with Danish business identities and entrepreneurs, Yvonne and Lars Christensen. Michelle and her musicians performed the show at the award-winning restaurant co-owned by the family and Michelle was invited to cook with the world-class chefs for the function.
