Olympic swimming star set to make a splash at Aquadome’s Free Community Day...whether you’re a visitor or a local to the Playford area, everyone is welcome to experience an afternoon of family fun at the Aquadome’s annual Community Day. A staple of the Playford community, the Aquadome will open the turnstiles.

Five-time Olympic gold medalist, Ian Thorpe AM will join locals at the Community Day, giving budding young swimmers the opportunity to meet with the inspirational swimming legend. Thorpie will lap it up with visitors who will be able to take a photo or grab an autograph of the country’s most successful Olympian.

With two indoor pools on offer, keen community swimmers will be able to splash the afternoon way in the 25-metre leisure pool with dedicated beach entry and water features including waterfall, spouts and tricky tipping buckets. Or enjoy laps in the eight lane 50 metre pool with depth from 1m to 2.9m, ensuring the young, the mature and everyone in between can enjoy their local swimming pool.

On terra firma, an array of entertainment and activities are planned including face painting, jumping castles, water games, races and prizes up for grabs for the kids.
