What do you get when you take five ambitious and manic musicians from far-flung suburbs and country towns and lock them in an inner-city Melbourne rehearsal room? You get Creature Fear—a compelling mix of 60’s garage rock and modern atmospherics rolled into a full-bore, shoes-off sound that can still whisper sweet nothings in your ear.

Having independently released four singles recently (each earning them multiple spins on Triple J), the band has built a strong following across the East Coast of Australia due to their quirky and incredibly diverse live show.

Now, Returning with their second track of 2019, Creature Fear bring their signature brand of bright rock in a righteous and confident belter, ‘Makeup.’ The song is about the point in your life where you can finally release all inhibitions and be free to be yourself, whoever that is. It’s about feeling suppressed but experiencing an awakening that gives you an urge to want to portray yourself true to who you are.

Having shared the stage with major acts including Killing Heidi, Ball Park Music, Kingswood, Tired Lion, The Delta Riggs and Boo Seeka, the launch ‘Makeup’ is guaranteed to bring the band’s theatrical, leg-spasming fun with the exciting energy of a 60’s rock n roll crowd wanting to dance the night away. Blending the manic old time fun and excitement with the sleekness of modern day music to perfection. It’s a recipe that triple j has described as “curious greatness,” as well as being coined as one of the undiscovered “hidden gems” in the Melbourne Music Scene today.

Proudly presenting their new release ‘Makeup’, Creature Fear invite you, the punter, to come down to the Catfish on Friday, October 11th to sing, spin and grin along to their ballistic live show of garage indie pop/rock bangers.
