Jazz trumpet king (ACT).

One of Australia's finest trumpeters and leader of the Dan McLean Big Band. Dan has just released a new album featuring renowned jazz singer Hetty Kate and some of Canberra's finest musicians.

Dan is a versatile and experienced performer, with professional training in both jazz and classical trumpet. Since graduating from the ANU Dan has performed both nationally and internationally in a wide range of music styles including jazz, pop, rock, blues, contemporary, classical and musical theatre. In this capacity, Dan has been actively sought out to contribute to a large number of CD/LP recordings as well as jazz festivals, musical theatre and contemporary jazz projects. Highlights have included playing with James Morrison, lead trumpet with Royal Caribbean Cruises, Grace Knight, Lily Dior and several of Canberra’s leading jazz and pop bands.
