Perth Folk and Roots Club is proud to be organising a musical tribute and fundraiser for Daniel T Searle, a fellow Perth Folk and Roots Club musician and friend to all at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club for Saturday 30th November 2019 with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club. Daniel T Searle recently passed away and was a musician and artist dedicated to honest expression.

A focus for Daniel in recent times has been the release of a number of CD’s including Twisted Gospel CD reflecting diverse influences from Johnny Cash, Tom Waits and Leonard Coen. The performances will feature Rick Steele, Izzy, John McNair & Keith Anthonisz and other musical friends.

‘Perth Folk and Roots Club is saddened by the news of Daniel T Searles passing and will honour him and his love Anna with a musical tribute and fund raiser‘, said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

Rick Steele is a local legend of the blues scene who has been playing in Perth for more than 30 years. Since arriving in Perth in 1976 he has been delivering his mix of blues and country all over WA and also nationally and overseas. He has played in numerous bands including the Hot Biscuit Band, released a large number of recordings and also has been instrumental in developing the Perth blues and roots community through his leadership of the Perth Blues Club. With four solo albums, several singles, nominations for country performer of the Year and regular appearances in Switzerland, Singapore, literally every town in Western Australia and home town New Zealand, Rick Steele is a leader in the WA music industry and is showing his support for Daniel T Searle.

Izzy is a female drummer come guitarist who has played with a number of roots based bands including Kim Bettenay and the Passing Strays and the Moonshine Stills. Izzy is known as a two hand Texas shuffle blues drummer. Izzy has played at Moondyne Joes and shows are also planned for A Day In the Forrest festival in Glenn Forrest on 15 December 2018. Izzy plays laid back acoustic roots music with a picking style reminiscent of Greenwhich Village folk music and is inspired by Mississippi John Hurt and Bob Dylan. Izzy has captured some magic musical moments playing with Daniel T Searle along with Steve Tallis. Izzy will be offering her tribute to Daniels music.

"Past 8pm there will be opportunities for other musical friends of Daniel to play in his honour," Keith added.
