Artist in residence Exhibition Opening for Ronda Sharpe hosted by Gold Coast City Libraries at 11th Avenue Creative Palm Beach Library.

Enquires phone: 07 5581 1545

Ronda is an Wiradjuri environmental artist who promotes awareness of waste in our ecosystem by creating artworks using discarded materials that are considered trash. The recycled mediums highlights the contemporary boundaries of connecting to consumerism and the throwaway society we currently live in.

Ronda’s art practice was developed outside her traditional country of (Wiradjuri); She was raised in Parkes NSW without the knowledge of her Indigenous background until recent years. Ronda is currently connecting with her cultural history and is inspired by her love and concerns for the environment by examining the connection from past present and the future.

Ronda is an emerging artist and has completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts studying at Griffith College of Arts and her Graduate Diploma studying at James Cook University. Her work was selected for the Churchies National Emerging Art Prize in 2018 and has participated in several exhibitions throughout Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
