Father's Day Event

This 1st September 2019, as families come together to celebrate their marvellous fathers and grandfathers, Rookwood Memorial Gardens & Crematorium in Sydney’s Inner West will uniquely support families who have lost their paternal figures to honour and connect with their loved ones through a special Father’s Day memorial service.

All members of the community are encouraged to commemorate those who have proceeded us in a dedicated, non-denominational ceremony led by celebrant, Paul Young. The service will include live music performances by Alana-Lee, and families will be invited one-by-one to light a candle and present a personal message.

Andrew Beatton, Family Service Manager at Rookwood Memorial Gardens & Crematorium says, “In our role of carers for the people of Sydney, we think it’s important that everyone has a place to remember the amazing dads who are no longer with us in body, but are ever-present in spirit and memory, and very much loved and missed by those who are here to remember them.”

This special service was devised by the team at Rookwood Memorial Gardens & Crematorium to aid people in celebrating the lives of their fathers and grandfathers, while connecting with others who are going through a similar experience. After the service light refreshments will be served. “In today’s society where we all lead busy lives, we hope to provide a time of joy for our Wollongong and the Illawarra Region neighbours, and a place where families can unite to reminisce about the good times”, concludes Andrew.
