Father's Day Event

On Saturday, 31st August, the day before Father’s Day, Lakeside Memorial Park and the Hansen & Cole Funerals team will help families who have lost their paternal figures honour and connect with loved ones through a special memorial service.

People in Wollongong and the Illawarra region are invited to commemorate those who have proceeded us with a beautiful, non-denominational ceremony and musical presentation dedicated to departed fathers. Guests will also be able to leave a personalised message which will be placed in an urn and kept in the park as a remembrance.

Paul Michlmayr, Family Services Manager at Lakeside Memorial Park says, “In our role as carers of Wollongong and the Illawarra community, we think it’s important that everyone has a place to remember the amazing dads who are no longer with us in body, but are ever-present in spirit and memory, and very much loved and missed by those who are here to remember them.”

This remembrance service was devised by the team at Lakeside Memorial Park to support people celebrating the lives of their fathers and grandfathers, while connecting with others who are going through a similar experience. Proudly held in collaboration with Hanson & Cole Funerals, light refreshments will also be served.

“In today’s society where we all lead busy lives, we hope to provide a time of joy for our Wollongong and the Illawarra Region neighbours, and a place where families can unite to reminisce about the good times”, concludes Paul.
