Gift yourself this wonderful experience and come and join us for a day filled with rhythm, community, laughter and culture and free yummy Ghanaian food from 4:30pm.
African Oz Drum ‘n’ Dance has been building a solid little community of rhythm lovers in Perth for the past few years and we love welcoming new friends to our Tribe of people from all walks of life, young and old.
Come and be part of this very special event as rhythmical Masters Odai Affotey and Ezekiel Bortei come together to share their skills, passion and African pride with the Perth Community.
About:
Odai is a world-class entertainer and master of traditional West African music and dance. He has been sharing his craft with the world for over two decades and now calls Perth home. Odai is a highly respected artist and culture keeper in his own community in Ghana and has contributed significantly to keeping the rich musical culture alive by teaching younger generations. Odai is a fun and engaging teacher and most of all loves nothing more than sharing his culture with others. You will find it impossible not to love his workshop.
Ezekiel trained with Odai in the "Salaka" ensemble in Ghana, where he was one one of the "Young Salaka's" training in both drumming and dance. Ezekiel has toured extensively teaching workshops and sharing his love of traditional rhythms and is very excited to now call Adelaide his home. Ezekiel is full of life and his workshops are fun and energetic.
