Halloween On the Green: Special Opening Ceremony

The Philanthropic Collective, with partner Le Pine Funerals of Ferntree Gully, will host Halloween On The Green 2019.

At 3:00pm, Le Pine Funeral operators will escort Yarra Ranges Mayor, Cr Tony Stevenson, via hearse into the fair ground. Mayor Stevenson will then be carried on stage in a coffin, preceded by a traditional marching Mariachi Band.

The event will offer free carnival rides, pony rides, face painting and trick or treating. Throughout the day there will be a fun variety of live entertainment, including performances by local musicians, a wizard story teller, surprise guest appearances and stilt walkers. A special “dunk tank” will be set-up at which you can dunk local community leaders!

From 11:00am to 12:00pm, a dedicated sensory free quiet hour will be staged during which masks and noises will be kept at a minimum, for the comfort and support of community members with sensory challenges.

All guests are encouraged to attend in a cultural or Halloween costume for the chance to win fantastic prizes. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit The Philanthropic Collective community programs, which provide a range of support to local schools, student and families.
