Curator/manager of Hidden Faces, Jacqueline Taylor OAM says, "there is something new and different each year and, now in its Eighteenth year, Hidden Faces continues to unveil the amazing portraiture talent in Victoria. The prestigious Pan Pacific Melbourne is the perfect location to exhibit these outstanding works by Raelene Sharp, Hung Fu, Jacquie Blight, John Mandich, Vicki Sullivan, Ron Penrose, Todd Simpson, Janne Kearney, Peter Ferrier, Lisa Wang, Jim van Geet & Steve May, to name a few."

"This year’s excellent collection of contemporary portraits on display here continues the tradition established by the Hotel to present a showcase of Victorian artistic brilliance. The consistent high quality of these contemporary works brings an added dimension to the Pan Pacific Melbourne experience,” says General Manager, Craig Bonnor. "We are delighted to host the Hidden Faces—the 2019 Victorian Salon des Refusés Exhibition with OzLink Entertainment."

The Exhibition is presented by OzLink Entertainment in association with Pan Pacific Melbourne. Supporting sponsors are GRACE Fine Art, Waratah Group, Mr. Moto, Seater Design & Peter Garnick Photographic Artist.

Hidden Faces follows in the long tradition of the French Impressionists of the 1860s who held a breakaway exhibition from the French Academy. The inaugural Salon des Refusés, held in 1863 by command of Napoleon III, included works by acclaimed artists Edmund Manet, Camille Pissarro and Paul Cezanne. This 2019 show includes a diverse array of exciting, diverse, witty & experimental artworks by Victorian artists whose talent deserves to be seen and appreciated.

The popular People's Choice Award is also available this year.
