Jason Heerah was named "The best singing drummer in the world" by the 2014 Australian X Factor, where he finished in the Top 6! Jason Heerah’s rendition of Pharrell Williams’ smash hit track 'Happy' at the X-Factor Audition 2014, has had over 1.4 million views on Youtube.
At current Jason has an extended passion writing/producing and releasing music on iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, Amazon and Youtube from his JHRecords studio. His debut independent album ‘Chasing Love’ recorded in Melbourne (AUS) was released in 2016 with the official clip by Island Music Label on YouTube, which captures the story of the Mauritian Kreol History. This received rave media attention for Jason’s music and connection with Mauritius.
Which leads to the new project for 2017 ‘Nou Sime’. The Album is a current representation of where his musical collaboration with the well seasoned and established Mauritian band called Otentik Groove and their vision is. Although it sings of all kinds of life’s realities, passions, truths & love they have paid most attention to stay on that positive vibe of music for the Mauritian community worldwide. The album is 80% in Mauritian Creole and has some standout English tracks. The featured artist is carefully handpicked on this album. The first single ‘Leve’ (feat Laura Beg) won Disque de L’annee 2017 on Radio One in Mauritius only 3 months after it’s release.
The Official Clip for Leve (feat Laura Beg) has reached over 3 Million views on YouTube in less than 12 months. The second single ‘Kifer to Pale Danse’ was released officially on YouTube in April 2018 and has over 1.5 Million views in 6 months and is a sung around the Indian Ocean islands Mauritius, Rodrigues, Reunion & Seychelles like a national anthem as one of the most popular hooks of 2018.
