Jay Hoad

After just winning one of the prestigious “best event” awards at this years Adelaide Fringe Festival, multi-Instrumentalist Jay Hoad is back in Australia and heading to the NT, launching his 2 new albums on a run of shows around the entire coastline of Australia, before heading back to Europe for the summer with him scheduled to perform at some of the biggest festivals on the planet including WOMAD in the UK.

Hoad’s show is renowned for being something very unique, with almost 20 instruments on stage including drum kit, skateboard guitar, didgeridoos, etc. With a total of 7 full length albums recorded over the past 10 years, and having toured through a total of 42 countries, he is a well oiled machine when it comes to touring and bringing huge energy to the stage.

Hoad has been back in Australia for the last few months performing at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, and now he is doing a run of shows up the WA coast line then onto NT and Europe for the summer. Jay’s last release “Off the Cuff” won the ARBA roots album of the year back in 2017, and with 2 new albums under his belt, he will be performing much of the new material on this tour.

“Looking so forward to the shows in the NT, the locals have always been so supportive of the show in this region and have had some really memorable shows here on past Australian Tours. I absolutely love Darwin and I’ve got a few days of downtime after the show so looking forward to checking out some of the countryside, definitely gonna juice me with good vibes to take over to Europe etc.

This years tour has so many cool locations and festivals on the various legs, and really excited to bring the new tunes and instruments to the fans around the world. The “Skateboard Guitar” made by my good friend Craig Koen in SA has been stealing the show at the festivals around the world, people just can’t believe the sound that comes out of this thing! ”
