Kong’s Kings is turning six! The event that has always championed drag kings and underdogs is going all out to put on one epic Kong’s 6th Birthday Blowout. Join Kongs as they take over the festival hub at Howler in Brunswick for a one night only birthday party like no other. Glitter your quivering moustaches and prepare to have your cake and drag kings too!
This Midsumma get yourself ready for a queer party filled to the brim with drag kings and queer AF performers, killer DJs, a reminiscing room, face painting, birthday cake, games, raffles and prizes!
Kongs has searched far and wide, gathering members of the first ever line-up to feed your nostalgic hearts. Feast on a tasty assortment of your favourite performers, old and new, from the last six years.
Rocco D’Amore/ Glitterfist/ Winnie Royale/ Justin Teliqure/ Jesse Dean/ Bennita Hamburger/ Dazza & Keif/ Lorry/ Lenny Lixor/ BustHerr/ Justin Sider/ Rex Spandex & Harden Long/ Max Factor/ Johnny Jizz… plus more acts still to be announced!
Kongs has been in the game since 2013 and has been growing with each new event. Kongs invites all of you that sit under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella, QTIPoC, people with and without disabilities, allies and friends. Performances will be Auslan interpreted and an Auslan welcomer will be available to greet guests who are deaf or hard of hearing. Kongs will be running a cloak room on the night so you can feel safe to wear whatever makes you feel like you. Howler is wheelchair accessible and gender neutral bathrooms will be available.
Kongs acknowledges that the land on which they meet is stolen land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. They pay their respects to elders past, present and emerging.
