Ladies in Black is a new Australian musical by Carolyn Burns and Tim Finn. Presented by Playlovers at Stirling, it features a stellar cast and is being performed for the first time in Western Australia. Based on the novel "The Women in Black" by Madeleine St John, the story is perhaps best known in the form of the recent feature film, Ladies in Black.
Set in 1959, when Lesley, a shy bookish teenager, takes a Christmas job at department store Goodes, she meets the ladies in black who work in the store. Each is on the precipice of change. A fun musical, with a great story and fabulous music.
