The four qualities of love, compassion, joy, and equanimity are emphasized in all Buddhist traditions. They are considered to be the basis of opening the heart and developing true bodhicitta. Making them our inseparable companions throughout our daily activities dissolves the boundaries that constrain us - increasing our well being, and benefiting ourselves and all those who we meet.

Lama Tsering Everest was born in the US and served H.E. Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche as his translator for more than 11 years. After completing a three year retreat in 1995, she was ordained as a lama and recognized by Rinpoche as a holder of the Red Tara lineage and authorized to give teachings and empowerments. In the same year she was invited to teach in Brazil, to where she moved shortly after.

Her warm and humorous style reflects Rinpoche's own humour and empathy, with focus on cultivating compassion, training the mind, and applying the dharma in daily life.

She will be giving a series of talks over 3 days in Sydney this weekend:

"Being Authentic, in Our Practice and Life"
Friday 7 June
We wear lots of hats, constantly inventing who we are - an artist, a housekeeper, a lover, a business person—never understanding who we actually are and having to deal with all the anxieties that come with that misunderstanding. However, when our masquerade of changing roles is challenged, an opportunity to be more authentic presents itself.

"Contemplating and Practicing The Four Immeasurables: Love, Compassion, Joy and Equanimity" Friday 7 June

"The Six Perfections/Paramitas - The Way of the Bodhisattva"
Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 June
What are the Six Perfections, why do bodhisattvas practice them, and what is the wisdom underlying them all? Lama Tsering will teach on these, and on contemplating and practicing them.
