Landscapes – Arafura Music Collective – Australian Composers

Arafura Music Collective celebrates AusMusic month and the year of Indigenous Languages with their performance of “Landscapes –The Music of Australian Composers”.

Australian composers are fascinated by the Australian landscape, evoking through music, a sense of place and space, and reflecting on elements of landscape as both exterior and interior, and physical and spiritual.

Set one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Top End, looking out to the Arafura Sea, Arafura Music Collective and PeeWees once more brings you an afternoon of innovative culture, combining beautiful chamber music with fine wine and food.

The Collective has chosen very diverse and stunning works to celebrate AusMusic month and the year of Indigenous Languages. We invite you to be inspired and moved by “Port Essington” by Peter Sculthorpe, the extraordinary work “Love and Dreaming” by collaborators Netanela Mizrahi and Guwanbal Gurruwiwi, inspiring new works by Francis Diatschenko and Cathy Applegate and the bold and innovative “Echoes and Lines” by Lachlan Skipworth.
