Laugh School – Stand-Up Comedy Classes – 8-Week Course

Have you ever thought that you might enjoy writing and performing comedy if you got the right chance? Well this could be the chance you've been waiting for!

Laugh School, in collaboration with the Hurstville Entertainment Centre, are running an eight week stand-up comedy workshop to introduce you to the fundamentals of writing and performing comedy.

Laugh School is a welcoming place where you can learn how to write and perform your own stand up comedy material in a fun and supportive environment. We offer small classes led by professional instructors at a convenient location, just a short walk from Hurstville Station.

In Laugh School, you will develop a variety of skills including crafting jokes and building routines, improvised comedy, discovering your onstage persona, microphone technique and audience interaction. We will also safely steer you around the common mistakes that most beginners make when they first try stand-up comedy.

Upon completing your level 1 training at Laugh School, you'll get to perform your set in front of a supportive audience of friends and family in the cosy Civic Theatre. Participants eager to continue on with their stand up comedy journey can choose to take a level 2 course and audition for a spot at one of the comedy nights run by your teachers.
