Little Wildlings Nature Playgroup is a nomadic, all-weather nature-based play group for children who are not yet enrolled in school. Meeting in wild spaces around the Sunshine Coast, this group follows a loose rhythm that revolves around free play and encourages adventure and exploration in nature to help promote imagination and self-discovery.

Your Little Wildling/s will be invited to participate in invitational activities including story time, seasonal song-time and a collaborative nature art project that will go on display at Festival Central for the last weekend of Horizon Festival.

Coming to playgroup allows children to form friendships and gives them a sense of belonging, as well as a connection with and desire to protect the wild spaces we regularly visit.

WHAT TO BRING
● Sunscreen
● Bug repellent
● Something to sit on (we bring big rugs but you might want your own)
● Food for the morning (children tend to eat more outdoors)
● Water
● Sling/carrier for bubs
What to Wear
We suggest that your child wears:
● Closed in shoes (aqua shoes, crocs, etc.) as it doesn't matter how much we sweep an area, when we're out in nature we still come across glass, sharp rocks, thorns etc. We completely understand how hard it is to keep shoes on walkers and toddlers so please know we will not 'tell you off' if your child refuses to wear shoes - it's just what we suggest to prevent us from having to do first aid every week ;)
● Long lightweight pants - we have a lot of bugs in Australia. Most of them are great. Mosquitoes in the Summer and Ticks in the Winter aren't. Pants help prevent annoying bites and also prevent scratches when your child goes exploring in the bush
● A shirt with sleeves for summer - rashies are great for the beach
● Hat
● Togs and a towel for locations near a water source
● Spare change of clothes (we bring two sets...)
● Rain gear (rain jacket, gumboots and rain pants for you and your child) - being wet and cold is no fun for anyone but even more so as parents. If you aren't comfortable, you won't enjoy yourself and you won't want to come back! Please make sure YOU are comfortable first! An umbrella is great - as long as you have a jacket as well.
● Please make sure clothing is old and not precious - it will get wet, muddy and stained!
