Our local legends concert features an awesome line-up of local musicians!

Come and spend an afternoon in Tuggeranong Arts Center's lakeside venue and bar with some of Canberra’s favourite bands, including Black Mountain String Band, Scroggin, and Zackerbilks who’ll get you up and dancing.

The Black Mountain String Band is a fantastic celebration of old time string band music: where three fiddles and voices harmonise with infectious rhythms of banjo, guitar and double bass. This superb group of Canberra musicians gather around a single mic and share tunes and songs that draw from the well of old time tradition and timeless original material. The band is Donal Baylor, Jacqueline Bradley, Matt Nightingale and Pablo Shopen, continuing the revival of Pablo’s father’s band from the 1970’s.

True to their namesake, Scroggin play an eclectic, high-energy mix of delightful morsels both savoury and sweet. Well-rooted in Bluegrass standards they also branch out into Australiana and Western swing, with an occasional country waltz for more sombre moments. Scroggin embrace the contradictions of traditional music in the modern age, playing country music for city folk, and old-fashioned songs for the new age. True to their namesake, Scroggin play an eclectic, high-energy mix of delightful morsels both savoury and sweet.

Zackerbilks is a Canberra based, trad jazz band. This 8 piece group plays a mix of instrumental and vocal music. They capture that vintage feel and play raucous, high-energy tunes from the 20s to the 50s that will get your feet moving!
