You are invited to attend this free panel event discussing the impact of Australian design at the recent Local Milan # 4 exhibition held during Milan Design Week. The panel will be moderated by Designer Mireille Oberholster and consist of designers Emma Elizabeth, Marta Figueiredo and Anna Varendorff accompanied by LCI Students Lilah Benetti and Genevieve Corbett. Drinks and light snacks will be provided.

About the exhibition:

In collaboration with LOCAL DESIGN’s creative director Emma Elizabeth, LCI Melbourne are pleased to launch Local Milan No.4 _ Edit this month in the LCI Gallery. The exhibition showcases a selection of Australia’s most significant designers, whose works were recently returned from Milan Design week, after exhibiting within the 5 Vie district. The exhibition in Milan has been curated and founded by Emma Elizabeth over the past four years and has significantly heightened the global perspective of the Australian design aesthetic and style known to date. Encouraging and supporting local designers to continue advancing and developing the industry on a national and global level.

LCI Melbourne’s iteration of Local Milan sees a group of LCI Melbourne students exhibiting their own designs inspired and influenced directly by the LOCAL DESIGN show. Juxtaposed alongside those of the established designers. With the support of LCI Melbourne these students took part in Milan Design week assisting with the installation and facilitation of Local Milan 4. On return, each student designed a work in response to their experience.

The resulting exhibition in the LCI Gallery presents an exchange between the work of the established designers and the student work, highlighting the waves of influence that comes from travel and exposure to international design.
