Midsumma Festival

A delicious musical feast, featuring the kitsch classics of Peggy Lee, Patsy Cline, Connie Francis, Ann-Margret, The Shangri-Las and more, as well as some unexpected surprises, Michael returns to Midsumma in 2019 with the band Michael and the Mascs in 'My Vanity Project’. Having had past Midsumma hits with ‘Cole’s Girls’ and ‘No really, I’m straight!’, Michael is happy to make his return!
A musical theatre stalwart, Michael has performed professionally for over 25 years in musicals such as ‘Priscilla’, ‘South Pacific’, ‘Mary Poppins’, ‘Grease’, ‘Miss Saigon’ and more.
With a band led by Joshua James Webb, Michael is finally free to perform as himself! Come revel in the songs of a gentler time but be wary of the occasional wrong turn and bump in the road. Melodic tunes, groovy beats and the odd sassy story. Michael and the Mascs: My Vanity Project will be performing for four nights in the Studio Theatre at Gasworks Arts Park, Albert Park.
The Studio Theatre is a small space and seats are limited, so get in quick!

Reviews from past performances:

“Vocally, Lindner is a powerhouse, his range, colour, texture and articulation are a master class in song performance. He has the ability to convey emotion, mood and dynamic while supporting some wonderfully sublime notes in the upper range” – thebarefootreview.com.au
“One of the things that is impressive about this production is Australian musical theatre performer, Michael Lindner (South Pacific, Mary Poppins, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Musical) as the unnamed character. He bounds around the small stage lithely, singing with strength and clarity and acting with panache” – Glam Adelaide
“performed with frock-popping exuberance” – The Age

Adult and sexual content. Auslan Interpreted: Thu 7 + Fri 8 Feb
