With themes changing every term, come and play in our newest program for 2 to 5 year olds!

Each Playdate is facilitated by a learning expert and is themed around exciting ideas to connect children to their world through museum objects. Before hours sessions from 9am to 10am are sensory friendly. Suitable for ages 2 to 5 years. Children must be accompanied by one adult. Book now to avoid disappointment.

Rock Playdates
Tuesday 26 February & Tuesday 26 March 2019

In this geology-inspired program, children will learn how rocks, and the minerals that form them, are part of our everyday lives. From enormous statues made of marble to fossil footprints laid in sandstone–every rock has a story to tell. Learn how to read these stories and personalise one of your very own.

International Day of the Forest
Thursday 21 March 2019
9am–10am (sensory friendly) and 11am–midday

Join the global celebration of forests and discover the hidden lives of trees from tiny seed to mighty Oak. Children will get their hands dirty as they create their own terrariums and learn why a tree can only be as strong as the forest that surrounds it.

Pasifika Playdates
Tuesday 30 April, Tuesday 28 May & Tuesday 25 June 2019
9am–10am (sensory friendly) and 11am–midday

Journey across the islands of Polynesia, Micronesia, and Melanesia and discover a deep connection held between people and the ocean for thousands of years. Children will look, listen and experience the traditions of story, dance and decorative pattern of Pacific Island culture and reflect on the importance of living in harmony with each other and the environment.

International Day of Biodiversity
Wednesday 22 May 2019
9am–10am (sensory friendly) and 11am–midday

Did you know that there are more than 33,000 species of fish on our planet? That is more than the total number of mammals, amphibians, reptiles and birds combined! During this special playdate, children will meet the deep sea dwellers that call our oceans home and reflect upon the choices we can make that can ensure their continued survival.
