My Urrwai

Ghenoa Gela is amongst many things a daughter, a teacher, a fighter, a gold medallist, a TV star and a Torres Strait mainlander. Gela reflects on her life in a revealing matter on cultural inheritance, exploring political, social and colonial expectations. Gela is a recipient of the Keir Choreographic Award and the Deadly Funny Melbourne International Comedy Festival Award. The performance invites you to see another perspective of culture. The story telling is an eye opening experience.
