Myles Mitchell

Denmark based blues and roots artist Myles Mitchell is touring the West Coast to celebrate the release of his second studio album Together Like This.

Myles Mitchell is a story-telling, joke-cracking, genre-hopping, fun-loving, song-writing, live wire with his own blend of hip shaking alternative blues…and as a trio, they are a high energy dance machine who take this original music experience to the next level. Mitchell’s music evokes the lyrical storytelling of Johnny Cash, the baritone vocal stylings of Jim Morrison (The Doors), and the sounds of West Australian blues and roots. "He sounds like Nick Cave on happy pills."

"For this tour I am super excited to be bringing my current partners in crime Mark Gretton (drums) and Jack Harrison (bass), these guys are a ripping hot rhythm section and we sing three-part male harmonies which gives the show some extra pizzazz. As a songwriter, it is a wonderful feeling to hear your songs come alive and take on new sounds that other musicians and singers bring to it. Can’t wait to share it with you all."

The first single and title track of the album "Together Like This" was released in 2017 to an over-packed hometown crowd in Denmark and reached number 10 on the Triple J Unearthed Charts (roots category). Following the success of the single, the band went back into Barnhouse Studio, near Denmark to record the rest of the album with studio engineer Phil Rowe.

The album is typical of Mitchell’s style—up-tempo, diverse, full of stories and above all, fun. "At the end of the day that’s what we are about as a band…fun! We like to have a good time and we like the crowd to have a good time so its all just one big party. I am very pleased to say that the word most often used to describe our music is fun."
