Nocturne is a classical music event produced by Louise King (Cello Dreaming) and is a performance opportunity for musicians to perform in the Sunshine Coast Chamber Orchestra featuring music inspired by the romance of night, the moon and a majestic canopy of stars.

This performing arts project celebrates excellence in community-led classical music practice in the Sunshine Coast region and features Australian high-profile professional musicians performing ‘side-by-side’ with local talent.

Leading Australian orchestral musicians, chamber music artists, Sunshine Coast instrumental music teachers and young talented award-winning musicians unite to perform in the Sunshine Coast Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Artistic Director, Louise King of Cello Dreaming.

Hear music by Mozart, Borodin, Piazzolla, Boccherini, Dvorak, Fauré, Tchaikovsky with an Australian Premiere of a new work for Cello Ensemble by Estonian composer Tvete Vik with new music for strings by Australian composers Nicholas Buc and Elena Kats-Chernin.

Sunshine Coast Chamber Orchestra featuring guest artists Graeme Jennings senior lecturer in violin at Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Caroline Henbest viola lecturer at Australian National Academy of Music, Melbourne, Members of Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Sunshine Coast string teachers and young musicians from Queensland Youth Orchestra and the Young Conservatorium.
