Yarra Glen opens its doors to creative types as art and heritage collide on one Saturday in October.

Celebrate the launch of the Not the Archies Street Gallery, a grassroots portrait project by the artistic Yarra Ranges community. Window shop the main street of Yarra Glen, bursting with colour, sass and stories that celebrate loved ones.

Spend the day discovering time-honoured skills and forgotten trades at the heritage homestead of Gulf Station. Get yourself a sneak peek of the outstanding contemporary Australian sculptures that are peppered on the landscaped lawns of Yering Station ready for the latest exhibition and see what lies behind the studio doors of some of the most incredible artists in the Yarra Valley at Open Studios.

As the light fades away, your arts adventure is only getting started. At the Not the Archies Projection of Local Faces see art created before your eyes while an artist creates live portraits projected in jumbo size in the main street of Yarra Glen.

Round out the day with a trip to the Yarra Valley Grand Hotel and enjoy the live music. Being a culture buff is thirsty work – you’ve earned a cold one.
