Perth Folk and Roots Club is back with more folk and roots at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has Dave Johnson and Green Herring.

"Perth Folk and Roots Club welcomes Dave Johnson and Green Herring at Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club," said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

Dave Johnson is based in Fremantle in Western Australia, and is one of Western Australia’s most accomplished song writers as well as being a great exponent of the mandolin and tenor guitar. He has performed at most major festivals around Australia and has been billed as one of the headline acts at both Port Fairy and Woodford festivals with his band The Fling. The Fling was one of WA’s most successful folk bands and in its heyday in the mid-‘90s, it toured the world’s folk festivals and, said member Jon Cope, "every Irish pub in Asia between Singapore and Tokyo.” Dave has toured extensively through Europe with fellow Australian singer songwriter Carus. Dave has also released two solo albums, 'One A Clear Day' and 'Leaving Time'. Leaving Time has also been released in Germany through Valve Records.

Green Herring, originally called Prhyme is made up of Lee Goodall and Irma Lachmund, an acoustic duo, both playing mandolin and guitar. They write and songs about the environment that aim to inspire people to take action for a better world. They have previously performed for Perth Folk and Roots Club in Guildford and Mt Lawley and have also performed at Bridgetown Blues Festival and the Bony Mountain Folk Festival and the Nerum Creek Music Festival in Queensland. Green Herring is currently planning release of a CD before the end of winter 2019.

"As always we are also looking for up and coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience," Keith added.

Please note the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club is hosting the Perth Folk and Roots Club as a free event for its members and guests with memberships offered at a very reasonable cost to Perth Folk and Roots Club supporters.
