The next Perth Folk and Roots Club has been planned for Sunday 22nd September 2019 with the support of the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club and City of Stirling. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has Dave Robertson and the Kiss List and Salisbury Home.

"Perth Folk and Roots Club looks forward welcomes Dave Robertson and the Kiss List and Salisbury Home for performing at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club," said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

Dave Robertson is a story teller though his indie-folk-pop songs and has played at Nannup, Fairbridge, Earthdance and Fremantle festivals, West Coast Blues and Roots Fringe, supporting The Basics (featuring Gotye) in Tasmania and the sultry Canadian singer-songwriter Carolyna Lovely in Vancouver, and performing the political "Rogue State" to thousands at the Walk Against Warming rally in Fremantle in 2007. The Kiss List released their much anticipated album Oil, Love and Oxygen in November 2017 and toured Melbourne last year. The album is a diverse mix of bittersweet indie folk, pop, rock and blues. Ian Shepherd, founder of Dynamic Range Day, mastered the album in the UK. It follows Dave’s Little Scientist EP that proved popular on radio around Australia, including Triple J.

The sweet sad sound of forgotten dreams is wound through Lachlan Gurrs intricate finger picking on guitar and banjo to weave the songs written for Salisbury Home. From a misspent youth in Perths punk and metal scene to a hell of a time with The Kill Devil Hills and in between dastardly deeds with the pirate band Rumskull, Lachlan Gurr shows his hidden secrets to a select audience in a rare solo performance. The Kill Devil Hills were a prominent Perth band that won WAMi Awards for "Best Blues/Roots Act" and "Best Country Music Act".

National youth radio station, Triple J, played their albums and the band also performed at The West Coast Blues & Roots Festival, Bridgetown Blues Festival and the Big Day Out as well as touring Europe. Salisbury Home plays songs of love and loneliness, rough nights and lost dogs, and hope found in the bottom of the garden, build this indie-folk set, inspired by the Decemberists, Iron and Wine and The Tallest Man on Earth.

"As always we are also looking for up and coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience," Keith added.

Please note the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club is hosting the Perth Folk and Roots Club as a free event for its members and guests with memberships offered at a very reasonable cost to Perth Folk and Roots Club supporters.
