Quaama Community Market has been established to enliven Quaama, to raise funds to continue the repair of Quaama School of Arts and to contribute to the re-awakening of our wonderful old Hall as the centre of Quaama life.
The aim of the market is not to join the list of regular, commercial weekend markets in the Bega Valley, but to provide members of the communities of Quaama and surrounds an outlet for their unwanted goods, excess produce, handmade goods or to promote their locally based businesses. This is the same for local organisations looking for an opportunity to fundraise, recruit and inform. A key element of the market is the “secondhand Sunday” space where unwanted goods can be left for others to take away.
The focus of the market is therefore on the sharing of resources, keeping items out of landfill and on maintaining a well-connected community.
