The biggest tattoo event in the country, the Rites of Passage Tattoo Festival, is returning to Sydney this October for a massive weekend of tattoos, art and entertainment.

Held annually in Sydney and Melbourne, the festival brings over 250 of the most talented tattoo artists in the country together under one roof to showcase their work at the International Convention Centre. Featured artists include Sydney locals, Maija Arminen from Little Tokyo, and Horisumi Kian Forreal, who will be showcasing the art of traditional hand poke Japanese tattooing called 'Tebori' and holding seminars on the history of Japanese tattooing.

Visitors will have the chance to research the latest trends and techniques, meet their next (or first!) artist, and even treat themselves to a tattoo on the spot. Retailers will be in attendance selling art, streetwear, jewellery and more.

Chasing Ghosts frontman, Jimmy Kyle, will be pulling together a jam-packed entertainment program featuring tattoo seminars, circus and fire performances and daily tattoo awards. The festival will also feature the notorious Australia's Worst Tattoo competition, so be sure to head over on Saturday to show off that ink that seemed like a good idea at the time; you might just win something!

With so much to see and do, you don’t want to miss out on this huge celebration of art, diversity and tattoo culture.
