The final event in the Lismore Women's Festival will offer a diverse and delicious musical smorgasbord in a boutique festival space.
Roar are thrilled to announce this year’s line-up -Featuring will be the infamous Rosie MissChief and DJ Ego who will take you on an energetic musical adventure and get you moving with a blend of electro swing through to drum n bass. Also joining the bill are ‘Jex Lopez and The Gravediggers’ landing spaceships from queer utopic planets to bring you evocative musical soundscapes by well-dressed skeletons drawing upon latin rythms.
The hugely popular ‘Fisted Sister’ will be returning with their ‘Babe Collective’ a troubadour of sailors massacring pop music, as will Songsmith accompanied by Jewel Musica forming ‘Songsmith and Jewel’ to delight audiences with their soul inspired sweet melodies. Michelle Fitness returns with Nathan Slyde Peterson dragged from the gutter, soaked in moonshine and rooted in tradition as ‘Two Tears in a Bucket’.
Kicking off the entertainment on the Roar stage upstairs will be two delightful burgeoning young female soloists Jessica Maree and Mykaela Jay. As always, the night will include comedy and poetry bringing you the hilarious Vanessa Larry Mitchell from Lismore’s own Larry Laughs Loud Comedy Club. The upstairs stage will run from 8pm to midnight.
Meanwhile downstairs will kick off at 5pm with a panel on 'Women in Music' a space to hear from experts and join the conversation about the unique challenges facing women in the music industry. At 6pm ArtWomb will offer an open stage hosted by House Band 'The Fill Inns', here all are invited to contribute original performances and join impromptu collaborations—ArtWomb will feature special guest performances from Sophia Fletcher, Jennifer Williams, the Dinkum Bohos and Amanda Wone McHugh. After ArtWomb concludes at 9pm downstairs will kick on with tunes from femme fatale DJ Orthentix.
